Global Refurbished Smartphone Shipments Observed 15% Growth in 2021

The global refurbished smartphone market has witnessed a higher demand and supply as well in the last year, which shows that the consumers are preferring pre-owned devices. The refurbished smartphone shipment saw a growth of 15% the new smartphone shipment has seen only 4.5% in the whole year of 2021.

India and Latin America have recorded the highest growth among all countries with 25% and 29% growth respectively. Whereas the brand popularity has seen that Samsung remains on the top in ship most of the refurbished smartphones, and Apple was the second most popular smartphone brand whose iPhones were supplied most in refurbished smartphones. 

According to Canalys, the Indian smartphone market in the first quarter of 2022 has seen just a 2% growth in smartphone shipment whereas the Chinese smartphone brand Realme saw the highest growth of 40% among other smartphone brands. As for the number of smartphones, Xiaomi was the number one brand followed by Samsung in the 2nd spot. As per the report, the shipment in India has witnessed 38 million units in the first quarter of 2022.
